SG Coach Level 1 (Run 1): 24-25 Feb & 1-3 Mar 2024 [Practical Assessment on 20 Apr 2024]
SG Coach Level 1 (Run 2): 1-5 Jun 2024 [Practical Assessment on 20 Jul 2024]
SG Coach Level 1 (Run 3): 7-11 Dec 2024 [Practical Assessment on 25 Jan 2025]
Pre-requisites for SG-Coach Level 1 (Full Integration) Course
- Be 18 years old and above;
- Possess a valid First Aid Certificate with CPR/AED (or have registered to undertake the certification);
- Possess a valid PPCDL; and
- Is proficient in sailing / windsurfing (possess SSF proficiency level 1 or equivalent).
Documents will be requested during the course for verification.
Registration and Exemptions
- You are required to have a SportSync ID during the registration process. If you do not have a SportSync ID, please contact Mr Terence Koh (tkoh@singaporesailing.org.sg) for information on registering for SportSync.
- Participants may submit evidence to request for exemption of modules (subject to the following terms & conditions):

- For SG-Coach Theory modules and Foundational Sports Science modules, exemptions will be granted as per guidelines issued by SportsSG-ED.
- NCAP certifications are still recognised by SportsSG-ED.
- Recognition of Prior Experience/Competency is also available.
- Candidates will be assessed based on evidence submitted and/or a demonstration of their competencies.

- A minimum of 3 participants are required for the course to be run.
- Registration will close 1 month prior to the commencement of the course run. No exceptions will be made.

Module 3: Racing Rules of Sailing
Module 4: Safe Sport and Water Sport Safety
Module 5.1: Anatomy and Physical Preparation
Module 5.2: Strength and Conditioning (Children and Adult)
Module 6: Biomechanics and Technical Skills (Science of Sailing)
Module 7: Sports Nutrition
Module 8: The Theories of Coaching
Module 9: The Coaching Process
Module 10: Building Positive Culture in my Sport
Module 11: Coach Fundamental Sailing Skills
Module 12: Overall Assessment (scheduled approximately 1.5 months after Module 11 [refer to event end date])
In addition to the modules stated in the course content, participants will be required to:
- Complete e-learning modules via SportSync prior to the commencement of the course.
- Undergo two attachment sessions. The dates of the attachments can be decided by the participants (Sundays 0900-1300h) but must be completed within one month after the conclusion of module 11 (coach fundamental sailing skills) and before module 12 (overall assessment).
- Take the SG-Coach Theory Level 1 and Functional Sports Science examinations (dates to be released by CoachSG).
