Pre-requisites for SG-Coach Level 1 (Full Integration) Course
  1. Be 18 years old and above;
  2. Possess a valid First Aid Certificate with CPR/AED;
  3. Possess a valid PPCDL; and
  4. Is proficient in sailing / windsurfing (possess SSF proficiency level 1 or equivalent).
Documents will be requested during the course for verification.
Registration and Exemptions
  • You are required to have a SportSync ID during the registration process. Please enter your SportSync ID if you have an existing one. If not, leave it blank and we will contact you to assist you in creating one during the registration process.
  • Participants may submit evidence to request for exemption of modules (subject to the following terms & conditions):
      • For SG-Coach Theory modules and Foundational Sports Science modules, exemptions will be granted as per guidelines issued by SportsSG-ED.
      • NCAP certifications are still recognised by SportsSG-ED.
      • Recognition of Prior Experience/Competency is also available.
      • Candidates will be assessed based on evidence submitted and/or a demonstration of their competencies.
  • A minimum of 3 participants are required for the course to be run.
The usual price of the course is $1,200 including GST. However, SSF will be subsidising $400 off the course fees for this year.

  • Module 1: Coaching Philosophy and Practices
  • Module 2: Sport Development System
  • Module 3: Racing Rules of Sailing
  • Module 4: Safe Sport and Water Sport Safety
  • Module 5.1: Anatomy and Physical Preparation
  • Module 5.2: Strength and Conditioning (Children and Adult)
  • Module 6: Biomechanics and Technical Skills (Science of Sailing)
  • Module 7: Sports Nutrition
  • Module 8: The Theories of Coaching
  • Module 9: The Coaching Process
  • Module 10: Building Positive Culture in my Sport
  • Module 11: Coach Fundamental Sailing Skills
  • Module 12: Overall Assessment (on the last scheduled course date)
In addition to the modules stated in the course content, participants will be required to:
  1. Undergo two attachment sessions. The dates of the attachments can be decided by the participants (Sundays 0900-1300h) but must be completed within one month after the conclusion of module 11 (coach fundamental sailing skills) and before module 12 (overall assessment).
  2. Take the SG-Coach Theory Level 1 and Functional Sports Science examinations (dates to be released by CoachSG).

    Hi, I am interested to join SG Coach Level 1 Full integration. I already am certified SG Coach Theory level 1 and also NROC coach for kayaking. What module can I be exempted from the SG Coach Level 1 Full integration Sailing.
