Intermediate Sailing Course 2021

In light of the current situation with COVID-19, we have implemented precautionary measures to deal with the situation:
 
 
We are closely following the guidelines from MOH in order to provide a safe environment for our sailors.

This event is open to all sailors whom have recently attained their Dinghy Proficiency Level 1

Training Dates
Intake 1:
January 11, 12, 13 & 14 (last day) – CANCELLED
Intake 2:
February 22, 23, 24 & 25 (last day)
Intake 3:
June 28, 29, 30 & July 1 (last day)
Intake 4:
November 8, 9, 10 & 11 (last day)
Pre – Requisites
● Must obtain level 1 certification
● Min Age 13 years old to 60 years
● Able to swim 50m with personal floatation device
● Min 6 participants to start a class
Course fee: (Inclusive of course fees, equipment, testing & certification + 7% GST)
Singaporean, PR / Foreigner – $481.50
*Training dates are subject to changes

1. Correct technique of tacking and gybing

2. Emphasizing on correct posture and hand grip

3. Water confident

4. Identifying wind on water

5. Sailor able to climb up onto the boat without help

6. Launching & Recovery with buddy system

7. Set rules to avoid collision at all cost

8. Sailors achieve water confidence

9. Correct sitting position

10. Racing Flags add in U and start sequence AP

11. Introduction of Basic roll tack and roll gybe

12. Adjusting control Lines

13. Mark Rounding in correct technique

14. Correct technique of tacking 80% skill

15. Basic roll tack and gybe 20-30%

16. Sail in straight line : Tell tales, proper close hauled

17. Race Management (Introduction)

18. Penalty procedure rule 42

19. Fundamental of starting Procedure correctly

20. Tell tales work Sail trim (60%)

21. Boat Balance, Boat Trim, Hiking (40%)

22. Down wind, Dagger board, Kite half way

23. Gybing correct technique (80%)

    Hi good afternoon!

    My son completed Opti Junior Full Day Course in June 2019 and he is 13+ & over 45KG now, can I register him into youth/adults INTERMEDIATE SAILING COURSE? or he should start from youth basic sailing course? Thanks for advise!
